What to write in an Irish wedding card

For a couple, a simple Comhghairdeas ar lá bhur bpósta! means “Congratulations on your wedding day.” Here are three ways to use Irish in your card.

For the front of the card

Ar lá bhur bpóstaOn your wedding day

This short greeting suits a card cover or the first line of your message. Bhur is the form of “your” for more than one person.

To congratulate the couple

Comhghairdeas ar lá bhur bpósta!Congratulations on your wedding day!

Use this inside the card or on its own if you want to keep the message short.

For a Claddagh design

Grá, dílseacht agus cairdeasLove, loyalty and friendship
